Welcome! Diversity Committee member Valarie Blyden greets the first of 60 participants in the 5th annual New to F&A Day. The day-long orientation program is designed to introduce our newest staff members (2 years or less) to the breadth and depth of the division and University of Georgia, as well as to encourage them to network outside their current work areas. After a walking tour of downtown led by community leaders, participants are ready for a hearty breakfast and session on engagement in the local community at Trumps in downtown Athens. Following breakfast, it's back to the Arch for walking tours of North Campus. A conversation with Senior Vice President Tim Burgess at the Chapel is next on the agenda. Next it's off to lunch with division heads at the Tate Student Center. Andy Clark of the Physical Plant is one lucky guy, winning downtown Athens gift certificates at breakfast and picking up a foursome of golf at the UGA Golf Course at lunch.
