Steps Towards Inclusion
Every Spring, Annually
The F&A Culture and Belonging Committee presents Steps Towards Inclusion: a journey of selective sites denoting African American contributions at the University of Georgia. Each of the ten locations on the tour highlights the historical significance of its namesake and its connection to African American students, graduates, staff, faculty, or a prominent location on campus. The tour is available in person during the month of February and online year-round.
F&A Community Holiday Outreach Initiative with the Athens Housing Authority
November – December, Annually
Finance and Administration supports Athens community members in need each year through the F&A Community Holiday Outreach initiative, providing essential items and holiday gifts. Each division and central office within F&A sponsors one or two families or seniors through the program, which runs from October through December. Since its inception, the Community Holiday Outreach initiative has raised $49,618 to support Athens residents facing financial hardships. The program’s impact continues to grow, thanks to the generosity of F&A staff and the dedication of the F&A Culture & Belonging Committee, which organizes the event in partnership with the Athens Housing Authority.
F&A Mental Health and Well-being Training
Fall 2024
The F&A Mental Health and Well-being Training is sponsored by the F&A Culture and Belonging Committee in collaboration with University Human Resources and Student Affairs to offer mental health awareness training to Finance and Administration staff members.
Women Leading the Way: Lessons Learned and a Path Forward

Inaugural F&A event honoring National Women’s Equality Day. August 26 marks the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment which grants women the constitutional right to vote. In recognition of this moment, we asked women leaders from across UGA to join us for a panel to discuss their thoughts and experiences.
