With the help of innovative flood modeling and systems engineering approaches used by the University of Georgia’s Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems (IRIS), the campus’ Risk and Resiliency Division (RRD) can make more informed decisions about where to shore up defenses against flooding.

From CPR and bleeding control to active threat response, the Office of Emergency Preparedness trained hundreds of students and employees across Georgia during the 2025-26 academic year. The sessions provided practical skills and reinforced emergency readiness at UGA campuses and facilities statewide.

The University of Georgia has earned Tier 1 status from the Georgia Office of Fleet Management for the first time, placing it among roughly 10% of the 135 state agencies evaluated to do so.
