James Shore

Senior Associate Vice President and Budget Director
James Shore serves as the Senior Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration in the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration. In this role, he works in close collaboration with the Provost’s Office and other leadership across the University in serving as the University’s budget director. This responsibility includes the planning, development, and management process for the University’s nearly $1.9 billion annual budget.
Shore joined UGA in February 2015 from Wake Forest University after serving as their Associate Vice President for Budget and Financial Planning. In this capacity, he oversaw the development and reporting of the University’s ~$350M annual operating budget as well as the annual capital budget. Prior to this position, he held positions as a senior financial management analyst and budget analyst.
Prior to joining the team at Wake Forest in 2003, Shore served as the accounting manager & supervisor for Landmark Aviation (formerly Piedmont Hawthorne Aviation), where he oversaw the accounting of over thirty FBO locations. He also served as a senior accountant for Chatham Inc., a furniture fabric manufacturer. At Chatham, Shore managed the general accounting, cost accounting, and industrial engineering offices.
Shore holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, a minor in accounting from North Carolina State University, and an MBA from Wake Forest University. He lives in Watkinsville, Georgia, with his wife, Leigh Anne, and their two children.
