Steps Towards Diversity

Every Spring, Annually

The F&A Diversity and Inclusive Excellence Committee presented the second annual Steps Towards Diversity: a journey of selective sites denoting African American contributions at the University of Georgia in April 2023. Each of the nine locations on the tour highlights the historical significance of its namesake and its connection to African American students, graduates, staff, faculty, or a prominent location on campus. The tour was available on campus and online.

F&A Holiday Outreach Initiative with the Athens Housing Authority

November - December 2022, November - December 2021

Finance and Administration team members stepped up again this year and exceeded the requests for families and seniors supported through our 2022 Community Holiday Outreach Initiative. This year, F&A was able to help 10 families (up from eight last year) and two seniors. Through the dedication of the F&A Diversity Committee and the generosity of our F&A staff, we were able to provide holiday gifts and essential items including groceries, toiletries, and furniture to help these families throughout 2023. This year’s monetary and gift donations totaled $11,075, eclipsing last year’s overall total donation value by $3,750! The F&A Community Holiday Outreach Initiative is hosted in partnership with the Athens Housing Authority to support families and individuals in need.
