Transportation & Parking Services has been working to address challenges related to parking on campus and is planning several expansions and initiatives to make the experience smoother for faculty, staff and students.

The University of Georgia Finance and Administration celebrated the first participants to complete the Mentoring for Operational Success (MOS) course at a closing session on Nov. 10. “I’m really proud of the work our first group of leaders put into making this course a success,” said Adam Fouche, director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Insurance and Claims Management.

The Edward T. and Sarah Laurent Kassinger Scholarship board has awarded the 2022 Kassinger Scholarship Awards to Captain Derrick Gregory and Officer Travis George with the University of Georgia Police Department in recognition of their academic achievements and work pursuits.

When international student Akash Singha Roy arrived in Athens and found himself stranded, UGA Police officers stepped in to help him find lodging at the Georgia Center.

Even during non-pandemic times, the continued operation of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (or HVAC) systems on UGA’s campuses takes a coordinated effort.

In 2019, the Presidential Task Force for staff professional development proposed a staff mentor program to cultivate a university-wide mentoring culture. This summer, university Human Resources launched the UGA Staff Mentor Program pilot, and the opportunity is generating strong interest.

Last year, Human Resources partnered with the Engage & Learn initiative to shift the organizational culture and place a stronger emphasis on continuous learning and performance improvement for all staff. Now, Human Resources is introducing the UGA Staff Competency Model to the university community.
